Campus Update #3
I want to thank everyone who made the effort to be present last night at the Havdallah ceremony. I know so many of you who wanted to come, but because of the challenging circumstances you are finding yourself in could not. The spirit of Ilan Ramon Day School was inspiring last night and we hope everyone is taking care and is safe.
This morning, thanks to the Lost Hills Sheriff’s Department, I was granted access to campus for a short while. I was able to survey the campus and am happy to report that right now the only buildings affected are the same ones as previously reported. The computer lab, maintenance shed, administration office and the lower field bathrooms have been destroyed.
However, the classrooms, the mercaz and the main office, and everything inside of them, are only affected by smoke.
We sadly did lose the gaga pit in the backfield, but the basketball courts, fields and even the tetherball are ready for your use.
Assuming that the roads are open, tomorrow we are meeting with experts who will help us begin the process of removing the debris and mitigating the fire damage, helping us ensure the campus is safe and ready for our return. We will continue to update you over the next few days, but we will remain closed at least through Wednesday.
We hope everyone remains safe and secure. Please reach out should you have any questions or need any assistance of any kind. We are here for you.
