Throughout the year our students are exposed to an art experience led by parent volunteers to learn about artists and create in that style. Your kids look forward to the Art Docent Program & want to share their passion with you!  (Student in grades E2 – 5th will have 2-4 pieces displayed)

We are happy to once again be screening in our school Daniel Cohen and Christopher Cowen’s documentary, An Article of Hope.  This movie chronicles Ilan Ramon’s final journey and, at the same time, commemorates a special artifact from the Holocaust.

While the film details the tragedy of the Columbia and the death of Ramon, it also focuses on a special aspect of the space mission. It was Ramon’s decision to bring one particular item into space: a Torah scroll that was used at a clandestine bar-mitzvah celebration at the Bergen-Belsen concentration camp during World War II.

The movie will be screened on either:

Thursday March 15, 2012 at 7:00 PM and Tuesday March 20, 2012 at 9:00 AM

Seating is limited to 75 people for each screening and you must register ahead of time.

We are thrilled to announce that at the end of March 2012, Rona Ramon will be coming to Los Angeles to visit our newly renamed school in honor of her late husband.  In celebration of Rona’s visit, we have combined our efforts with The 1939 Club which is dedicated to Holocaust education, documentation, justice and the memory of the six million Jews who perished, the millions of other victims who lost their lives, and the righteous persons who stood up for human rights.

The event celebrating the new name of our school and Rona’s visit to Los Angeles will be a luncheon held on Sunday, March 25, 2012 at The Beverly Hills Hotel.

Our annual Barnes and Noble Book Fair is taking place next Tuesday December 13 from 4:00pm onwards at the Westlake Promenade.

At 5:00 PM please join us as Joan Nathan will be doing a book signing and at 6:00 PM Yuri will be reading a story.

Make it an evening affair and enjoy dinner at the Promenade.
