From the flames that tried to take us down several weeks ago, tonight we will light a flame that will raise us back up with hope and peace. These last several weeks, our community has been blessed to be moved from feelings of despair and destruction, to a place of light and hope through the dedication and support of so many.
The Ilan Ramon Day School wants to thank everyone who has supported us these last several weeks, through words of encouragement, through financial and material donation, through friendship, through wisdom and through love. There are so many of you who have reached out and who have contributed in countless ways. We are beyond grateful to each and everyone one of you for your thoughtful notes, gifts, and every reach out and touch.
A special thank you to our friends at Temple Etz Chaim for their overwhelming welcome of our entire school community to their campus, to the Los Angeles Jewish Federation and the RPO Group for their deep wisdom, the Westchester Day School of New York for its awe-inspiring support, the deToledo High School for its leadership, the Summer Art Academy for their friendship and support, the faculty and staff of IRDS for their dedication, for our parents and our alumni for their support, and most importantly to the students of Ilan Ramon Day School for their resiliency and spirit.
We still have a ways to go before we can return and rededicate our campus, but like the Maccabees we will continue to work towards this special time.
Chag Sameach and Happy Chanukah
